Wigwams

After the woolly adelgid wiped out the Hemlock forests in the Westwoods (Guilford, CT), the goal of the state forester was to encourage the regrowth of Oak. I designed this project as a youth group project, where unwanted and invasive species were cut and repurposed into wigwams. The arches of the wigwam were built from Birch or Beech saplings, while the mats were made from Phragmites.
